Custom rubber hand-built hoses are specialized hoses that are made-to-order for specific and demanding applications. Unlike mass-produced commodity hoses, these are crafted individually, with each layer of the hose carefully assembled by skilled technicians. This allows for a high degree of customization in terms of materials, construction, and dimensions. A wide range of rubber compounds can be used, including natural rubber, Neoprene, EPDM, Silicone, Nitrile, and specialized polymers depending on the application’s needs. Reinforcement materials, such as textiles, wire, or a combination of both, are incorporated to provide strength, pressure and vacuum resistance. Custom rubber hand-built hoses are used when a standard commodity product is not suitable or where the commodity is not producing sufficient life expectancy
Hose Construction: Most hoses are made up of three elements: (1) a tube, (2) reinforcement, and (3) an outer cover. Each of these components is usually adhered to the adjacent components by bonding agents or thin layers of specially compounded rubber.
Built-In Fittings: Large bore hose is commonly manufactured with built-in fittings. The primary reason is that the fittings need to be attached to the hose body in order to withstand the end thrust pressures. Common types are built in nipple (BIN), built-in nipple flange (BINF), built-in rubber covered flange (BIRF) and beaded end with split ring flange (BE).
